Governments across the UK have been putting plans in place to try and bring down waiting lists for planned hospital treatment such as joint replacement surgery.
We need to make sure MPs don’t think the publishing of these plans means the problem is solved. The truth is, we’ve still got a long way to go before spiralling waiting times are stopped.
We’re hosting an event in the House of Commons in July to talk face-to-face with MPs about the fact that the job isn’t done. We want to brief them on waiting times in their local area so they can speak to the health services in their constituency and push for further planning to meet the needs of people with arthritis who need surgery.
Can you invite your MP to come along to find out about waiting times in your local area and the impact they’re having on people with arthritis?
What has your wait been like?
If you feel comfortable doing so, you can write a couple of sentences sharing your experience of waiting here. These will be added to your message to your MP on the next page.
